Monday 24th

6.00pm-8.00pm ‘Micro Cinema Monday‘ – free to view showcase of films from across the world on International Development.

Films being screened from Haiti, USA, China, Kenya, Lesotho and India. Discuss the films with representatives of Skillshare International and the Andrew Green Foundation, who work in Haiti.

Tuesday 25th

10.00am-4.00pm Join us for this special Community Media Cafe at The Chapel Cafe in partnership with Zinthiya Trust to mark the following:

* UN International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women
* 2nd International Community Media Day – individuals and organisations from across 100 countries will be involved in this event including Bangladesh NGO Radio.

6.00pm-8.00pm Photo exhibition launch event with Dr Huw Barton, University of Leicester – the exhibition will include images and film from his work with tribes in Borneo.

Wednesday 26th

10.00am-12.00pm Creative Coffee – Nick Hamer, Documentary Filmmaker / Director of Dear Albert – A character driven, feature documentary about recovery from addiction.

6.00pm-8.00pm Reportage Club event around the subject of conflict reportage and the role of social media – Doc Media Centre, Highcross

My guests will include Dr Paul Reilly, University of Leicester – his research focuses primarily on online political communication, with a specific interest in how social media is used to promote better community relations in divided societies.

Thursday 27th

6.00pm-8.00pm Reportage Club ‘in conversation’ – Rhys Davies

Local filmmaker Rhys Davies has been developing his career in Leicester for many years and is coming along to share his knowledge on getting started, collaboration, marketing and distributing your feature film.

Free event at the Doc Media Centre, Shires Lane, Highcross.

Friday 28th

6.00pm-8.00pm Micro Cinema showcase including presentation and discussion on ‘Carb-Awareness’ in the global diet by Rob Watson, DMU – Doc Media Centre, Highcross

Saturday 29th

11.00am-4.00pm ‘Open Day’ at the Doc Media Centre, Shires Lane, Highcross.

12.30pm-2.00pm ‘Writing for the Evington Echo‘ – a joint workshop by Andy Wiiliams of Adwaen Training with Helen Pettman, editor – venue is Evington Park House.

6.00pm-8.00pm Awards evening for 48 Hour Docfilm Challenge – all welcome – Screen 2 at Phoenix Cinema located in Leicester’s Cultural Quarter.

Sunday 30th

2.00pm-4.00pm Doc Photo School session on copyright law, who owns your images and uploading to the cloud – Doc Media Centre

11.00am-4.00pm Micro Cinema showcases – Leicester’s Docfilm Festival – Doc Media Centre, Highcross
